Child Care Aware of Kentucky Regional Administrator selected for 2021 Exchange Leadership Initiative

Hans Peterson, Regional Administrator of the Jefferson region of Child Care Aware (CCA) of Kentucky has been selected to participate in the 2021 Exchange Leadership Initiative. According to ChildCareExchange.com, the Exchange Leadership Initiative has been making leadership more visible in the field of early care and education to provide vision, stability, and direction.

Peterson will participate in a class of 53 members to examine and understand early care and education principles and practices, address diversity and equity, and engage in lifelong learning to develop strengths and skills to make a difference for children, families, and their communities.

This work complements the goals of Child Care Aware of Kentucky to improve child care quality by offering training and technical assistance to child care providers and connecting the community-at-large to resources and educational materials which support quality child care.

Koeller named WKU Child Studies 2021 Alumnus of the Year

Western Kentucky University has named Stephanie Koeller the Child Studies 2021 Alumnus of the Year. Stephanie is a Professional Development Coach with Child Care Aware of Kentucky in the Two Rivers Region. She began her academic career pursuing the Kentucky Early Childhood Director’s Credential, followed by an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood, and ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Studies. Stephanie serves on the WKU Child Studies Advisory Board and provides “vital connections for faculty and students with scholarships, state offices, and persons working in the field“.

The Two Rivers Team of Child Care Aware of KY is proud to congratulate Stephanie for this accomplishment and we are grateful to have her on our team. As PD Coach, she is a champion of scholars in the Two Rivers Region to promote the same scholarship program that she utilized as a child care director to further her own and her staff’s education.
