Katie Hastings (on the far left), our 2015 Burberry Award winner and current HDI research assistant, was honored last week with AUCD’s Anne Rudigier Award. This award recognizes an outstanding student demonstrating a commitment to supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families. Northern Kentucky University Launches Commonwealth’s Fourth Comprehensive Transition Program!
The U.S. Department of Education has approved Northern Kentucky University (NKU) as the latest postsecondary institution in Kentucky to offer a Comprehensive Transition Program (CTP) for students with intellectual disabilities. Northern Kentucky University joins Murray State University, Bluegrass Community Technical College, and Spalding University in offering CTP. Continue reading
Fall Seminar: Policy Adoption and the Legislative Process
Join us for the third presentation in our Fall Seminar series on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 1:00 – 3:00p ET to learn more about policy adoption and the legislative process, including central features of policy making in Kentucky. Join us at the UK Coldstream Research Campus Human Development Training Room (1525 Bull Lea Road, Lexington KY 40511) with live videoconferencing to sites around the state. This seminar will cover opportunities for advocacy organizations to pursue their agendas and barriers they have to overcome to achieve their policy goals. The Commonwealth Council on Developmental Disabilities provides examples of agenda setting and advocacy.
