The Human Development Institute What’s New in Inclusion Research Conversation Series

Presenters: Dr. Rachel Womack, PhD, MSW, Director of Training, UK HDI and Kai O’Neill, Doctoral Candidate in Special Education Leadership Personnel Preparation, UK

During this session, Dr. Womack and Kai will:

  • Discuss the connection between queer identity and disability with a particular emphasis on the connection between queerness and neurodivergence
  • Outline mental health considerations existing at the intersection of these two identities
  • Describe the results of Dr. Womack’s dissertation research on the relationship between queer and disabled therapy recipients and their providers
  • Discuss considerations for mental health providers, educators, and researchers
